Hi fellow COS Pro developers and users.
Recently I've bought this amazing duo - Monolith and COS Pro (v0.5.3). However I'm not able to use COS Pro at all. The GUI is very very slow and laggy in Cubase Pro 11. I've tried everything I could to make it work but it reacts so slow to mouse clicks and moves - it turns unusable. I have tried it in my other DAW of choice - Harrison Mixbuss32C 6 and there it is much better. Anyway my main DAW is Cubase and I would like to work in it.
I see that all of the tutorials are done with Cubase and COS Pro looks so smooth. I'm wandering if there are any settings I might be missing. I've tried to raise the buffer size, but even if I'm maxing it the problem persists.
Any advise is much appreciated.
Update on the issue. It seems that the new plugin update solved the problem with the graphics and Cubase 11 (already upgraded to Cubase 12). Thank you guys for sorting this out.
Addendum: I upgraded to Monterey (clean install). Same issue in Cubase 11. In Logic Pro X it works fine
thanks for the quick response. I am remembering a similar issue with sonbile and cubase. They had a switch to disable gpu acceleration and this way it was possible to use it. Maybe it has to do with rendingering.
For the time being, please make sure your audio buffer is set to it's highest setting when mixing (2048 or 4096). COS Pro incorporates a large amount of real-time analysis and a large audio buffer setting ensures the highest amount of cpu resources for your plug-ins.
We are meeting this week to discuss/resolve any outstanding bugs. We moved all future development over to Brainworx but unfortunately for our current releases, bug repairs are handled bi-annually with our last developer. Please be patient, I have not forgotten and will make sure to have it resolved asap.
Any news on this? I took the upgrade offer for cos pro a few days ago and also experience the lagging which makes it unusuable in Cubase, it even slows down Cubase when the gui is open, i get beach balls all over.
Examples: If I click on the preset browser I get a beach ball and the menu will eventually show up ater a few seconds. If I try to navigate it continues doing that.
My system info is:
Mojave 10.14.6
Cubase 11.0.41
I have Ableton 10 live sitting around and thought i try it here to compare and there I do not experience any lagging.
Hi and thank you for the prompt reply.
My machine is a Hackintosh build over 3.1 GHz, 8 core Intel i9 (i9900) with 32 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4, GPU - Radeon RX 570 4 GB, MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 installed on Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus, Display: AOC Q3279WG5B
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you would need any additional info.
Hello, this is indeed odd. Can you please provide full information of your system setup (including monitor) so that we may attempt to reproduce the lag and find the cause.
